You Won't Like Me When I'm Angry

Gonna go catch dinner and a movie with our Pastor, Strange. It's not strange in an unusual or bizarre way, that's his name, Strange. I told him he should get his PhD so he can be Dr. Strange like the Marvel character.

Speaking of Marvel characters, we are going to see The Incredible Hulk. I think if I were to be any Marvel character, I would probably be the Hulk. I think he really describes my persona well. I have this inner rage that I keep dormant and I tell myself that I've conquered all of my demons, but they resurface every once in awhile. It's not very pretty when they do.

I originally wanted to see Iron Man but alas he saw it already. Mary and I never see movies anymore. The last movie I saw in the theatre was...Eastern Promises? Jimmy told me about a drive-in in Concord that he and his wife and baby daughter go to. He says they pull in reverse style and just camp in the back of their SUV and watch two double features. Sounds fun, maybe I'll try, although our cars might be too small.

Gone Fishin'

Went fishing at Bodega Bay this weekend with my bro Rich. Rich and I are the same age but don't I look like his father in this picture? Anyways it was good to catch up. Rich is the closest thing I have to a brother. We were roommates for 7 years!

We fished for 6 hours but we didn't catch any fish. We did however catch 4 crabs. Next time gotta bring the crab net.

Friends, How Many of Us Have Them

Today’s QT was about friendship. The author quoted a poet Claude Mermet who said, “Friends are like melons; let me tell you why: To find a good one, you must one hundred try!” A very true adage!

I think I have a hundred acquaintances but very few friends. I think finding a good friend is like finding a good wife, basically they are both miracles. I think that with all the complexities and baggage people carry it’s amazing how anybody finds someone to love.

Happy Father's Day

Haven't blogged in awhile, my Lasik went well. Thanks for the inquiry Heh. I am 20/20 but I am still healing so sometimes my day and mostly my night vision is a little hazy. Actually my night vision is pretty bad. Hopefully it gets better.

Went to dinner with Josh and Rene to welcome them to the neighborhood. They moved to Jonathan's complex a block away from us.


We had our annual father's day picnic at church. Only two here are fathers. The other two soon to be father's maybe, well one sooner than the other I think. ;)


This is a picture of our new pastor. A lot of people think we are the same age, sometimes I forget how young he is. He has a very old soul and I think the facial hair has something to do with it. =)


This is a recent picture of Christian. He is growing so fast. Sometimes it makes me really sad how fast he's growing. Pretty soon he is not going to want to be seen with Mary and I. He is a little boy now. He loves throwing balls and hitting the ball with the bat. He makes good contact actually. I call him the natural.

The Wonders of Modern Day Society

I'm getting Lasik tomorrow, wish me luck. Can't wait to be free of contacts and glasses, well except for the fake ones that I have to wear for work. Sweet, now if ever get trapped on a deserted island I won't have to worry about not being able to see.

I'm really dependent on all of the luxuries of modern day society. I wear contacts, sleep with a CPAP machine for my sleep Apnea, take various medications, and I can't stand not going a day without a hot shower. I actually shower twice a day and I have the hardest time sleeping if I'm not in my own bed. Yeah I don't think I would survive the deserted island.

It's so funny on my previous post how all of the photo buffs wanted to know who took that picture. Muahahahahahaha! Is it so hard to believe that I took it? Well I didn't ok? It's from the web.

Our church has so many photography buffs. That's all they do, take pictures, talk about their pictures, cropping, talk about lenses, getting a better lens, and getting a better camera. I guess I'm just jealous because I'm not in their photography clique. =) But for all the pictures that are taken how come I never see any of them?

I've never really been into photography. I remember in high school people in photo class made cameras using an oatmeal container. That was kind of cool. But I do want to start using my Canon SD550 more and take more pictures of Christian and our family.

Things That Don't Make Sense

Why is it that at Korean restaurants they charge you more if you cook your own food? Don't they have that a little backwards? You should get some type of discount if you have to cook your own food. Isn't that what you are paying for when you eat out, for someone else to cook your food?

I love dok bosam but what I don't like is having to cook the meat and waiting for it to cook. What I like even less is that I have to wrap the meat, the salad, and radish in my own korean rice noodle taco. In the course of a meal I make like a hundred of these tacos. For a guy who sucks at using chopsticks this is quite an ordeal. I end up using my hands a lot and my eating area generally turns into a pig sty.

For the price I pay for the meal, they should cook the meat in the back, wrap each of the rice paste tacos individually and bring them out to me all assembled. That way I can just scarf down a hundred of them without waiting and without the frustration.
