Did I Call it or What?

Just saw the Brock Lesnar and Randy Couture fight. A while back I posted about Brock Lesnar being the next big thing in MMA and now he is the heavyweight champion. Although he had to beat Randy Couture a 45 year old man to do it.

There's a lot of critics out there bashing on him. Dan Henderson, another very well repected fighter was quoted saying that it demeans the UFC belt by Brock Lesnar having it. He's a 3-1 fighter so he just a MMA baby. But I think it was a smart move on Dana White to give Brock the belt. The guy is very exciting to watch. He's as explosive as a 280lb man can be.

Although he's only 3-1, he's fought some pretty high quality guys. In my opinion I think he would have beaten Frank Mir if he didn't get caught in the foot lock. Again in my humble opinion, he is exactly what the sport of MMA needs. He's like Mike Tyson and Hulk Hogan rolled up into one.

2009 Winter Retreat

We just came back from our winter retreat this past weekend.

It was a good time of eating
Praising/worship
Having fun at the beach
Praying

And listening to God's word

And see that guy in the red shirt? No not Christian the other guy. I saved his life. It took me some time to accept it, but apparently that's what I did.

I was cooking bbq outside with Jmo and Pdiddy, when Jessica comes outside to tell us something was wrong.

Immediately I went into panic mode, all these thought popped into my head that something happened to Christian, Mary, or someone was getting violent.

I came inside to see someone choking and his girlfriend trying to give him the heimlich unsuccesfully. I pushed her to the side and gave the guy a really hard squeeze, and out popped a chewed up steak as big as Christian's fist.

The guy was completely grateful and it was a very emotional moment for everyone. It didn't really dawn on me what I did.  I didn't really think it was that big a deal. So I went right back to cooking my steaks.

The truth is, I was glad that nothing happened to my family.

But it was a big deal, and I am really glad that I was there and was able to help out a brother in need, right Christian?

Fake Grass

A while ago we got some fake grass installed.  Fake grass, I know what you are thinking.  But I don't know if I have mentioned it before or not, but I am really lazy.  Well other than at work and in the gym.  When I am home I like to relax.  So mowing the lawn on the weekends was not going to happen.

In fact when we first moved in I planted a flower garden in the front yard, but pretty soon let it all go to hell.  When Mary's mom came to visit a couple months ago she pulled all of the dead flowers out, and said that she said it looked like a cemetery.  Our backyard was even worse, totally covered in 3 foot weeds.

It looks so nice now.  A lot of people come over and don't even realize that it's fake grass.  Now that it is a little warmer we get to enjoy playing on it.  Christian loves going outside to our backyard to throw and kick the football around.

He insists on sitting in the drivers seat every time we get out of the car.
